Job Description
Job Title: Customer Quality Engineer (Aerospace)
Location: Hertfordshire / Bedfordshire
Salary: £30,000 (plus benefits)
Are you looking for a new, customer-facing role within the aerospace industry? Do you have the ability to liaise directly with aerospace / defence OEMs and champion quality assurance? If so, and you have an excellent understanding of aerospace quality / regulatory requirements this may the ideal role for you….
The responsibilities of the role are as follows:
· Act as Quality Assurance representative during customer visits
· Ensure compliance with aerospace quality, regulatory and specific customer requirements
· Assist in the compilation of first article inspection reports (to AS 9102)
· Demonstrate root cause analysis, and permanent closure of quality issues with customers and third party regulatory bodies
· In the absence of the Quality Manager, liaise with Senior Management and ensure conces are being addressed and continuous improvement is being driven into all departments
· Interaction, with Quality Engineering team and brainstorm idea for problem solving / continuous improvement
To fulfil these requirements you must have the following skills / experience:
· Strong manufacturing background preferably Aerospace industry
· Good understanding of AS 9100 and EASA requirements
· Good understanding of First Article Inspection to AS 9102
· Good understanding of problem solving / continuous improvement methodologies (8D, Ishikawa, 5Y, Hard Route Cause Analysis, Corrective /
· Preventive Actions)
· Writing and working to Product Quality Plans.
· Familiar with controls for Non-conforming material, production permits, concessions and pre-releases
· Excellent communication / presentation skills (written and verbal)
