SENIOR STRESS ENGINEERS
ENGINEERING CONSULTANCY
BRISTOL & GLASGOW

We are now seeking Senior Stress Engineers to join the aero-structures team of this highly respected and world-renowned provider of specialist consultancy services based in Bristol or Glasgow. This division of the company provides high end technical and project management services to the prime aerospace companies. They are involved in some of the most challenging and exciting aerospace projects in the world.

The position of Aerospace Stress Engineer is ideally suited to high calibre engineering graduates with significant and appropriate post graduate experience. You will be expected to take full ownership of technical tasks and to lead others in their execution.

Successful candidates will ideally be degree qualified (min 2:1) or equivalent and have experience of the technical leadership of projects to time, quality and cost objectives. Aerospace industry experience is an advantage; however the calibre of the applicant is more important therefore applicants with Structural Analysis experience from any domain are welcomed. A demonstrable track record in one or more of the following technical disciplines is also required: Fatigue and damage tolerance; static stress analysis (metallic or composite); Finite Element Analysis. Candidates must also be able to demonstrate technical awareness in the field of aerospace structures; effective client management and communication skills and project team leadership skills. You should also have commercial awareness; adaptability and innovative thinking. You will need to show a willingness to work outside normal office hours on occasions and flexibility for working from the office, home and clients' premises. Ideally you will also bee pursuing Chartership through the IMechE or RAeS.

Our client develops individuals through a portfolio of training and development courses designed to help you make the best of your abilities and talents. These are reviewed with individuals through an annual appraisal process. They actively support staff in achieving corporate membership of relevant institutions. Some work outside normal office hours may be necessary. Travel to and from client sites and/or temporary secondment to client’s offices may also be required.

All candidates must be in a position to obtain UK security clearance to BC level. Additional restrictions may apply to certain projects.
