The Role
The responsibilities of the Transport Manager are as follows:
This is a highly challenging role where you will continually assess manpower and make recommendations to improve efficiency within your department, a good initiative will ensure that you implement new systems and adjust programmes to ensure the success of your team. You’ll need strong leadership skills as you’ll be responsible for 5 transport team shift managers, this role requires you to have strong people skills as you’ll be motivating and developing staff to ensure maximum efficiency as well as good relations with the Trade Union. High levels of numeric and literacy skills are required as you will have P&L responsibilities, legal compliance and a significant contributor to a budget of £14 million.

Certainly of degree calibre, with a business related degree or equivalent, you'll have gained extensive experience within a 3PL/FMCG environment. You’ll have vast knowledge of the supply chain sector including Health & Safety regulations and National CPC Road Haulage with the ability to coach and guide your team. It is imperative that you have a proven track record in motivation and leadership skills as you’ll need the knowledge and ambition to keep your team running efficiently in a continuous leaing environment. Also familiar with negotiation situations within the Trade Union.
