Job Description
A global Systems engineering, signal processing and software house for marine, space, battlespace and transport industries are looking for a Business Development Executive in the Transport division (ITS/Rail)
This position is ideally suited to an experienced Business Development Executive, with a solid background in selling technical consultancy and contract R& D to large organisations with multiple stakeholders.
Transport sector experience is essential, Rail or ITS, Industrial Transport sector. Further you will have a good understanding of complex sales, proposals, and planning/marketing communications. Experience of managing Bid value from £1million, or 30% of organisation tuover, from cradle-grave.
Technically astute, with minimum HND in electronic/electrical engineering/physics/ IT/Maths, & ideally chartered engineer.
Based- North Bristol, or willing to relocate,
Absent from home typically once a week, occasionally 5 nights consecutively away from home.
Job Purpose:
A senior management position reporting to the Business Director. The role will include:
• Taking responsibility for meeting defined order intake targets.
• Manage and deliver sales campaigns into complex institutional customer environments with a formal sales process and multi-stakeholder engagement.
• Building propositions that match company capability to market needs and differentiate from the competition.
• Identifying potentially profitable market needs and championing inteal changes to match company capability to those needs.
• Developing and managing customer relationships, including furthering of the companies position within the Transport market place.
• Identifying and developing sufficient opportunities that will allow short term business targets and long-term strategic aims to be met.
• Advising on bid strategy, including pricing and teaming requirements, and participating in EOI/PQQ/bid preparation.
• Developing and championing strategies, plans and budgets that meet or exceed divisional objectives.
The salary for the role is range £40k- £60k (depending on experience), + benefits.
