Jobs in FolkestoneFolkestone is a resort town on the south coast of Kent. It has a population of 53,411 and is just over 71 miles from London. It is situated at the foot of the North Downs and has stunning views of the countryside and the coast of France. Traditionally, the town was a war holidays nation, and now it's the location from which the Channel Tunnel connects to mainland Europe. From 2009 high-speed rail services will travel from Dover, Folkestone and Ashford to London. This will make Folkestone one of the closest seaside resorts to London, only a about an hour on a high-speed train. The new in town shopping centre, Bouverie Place (opened Nov 2007), proposed University, and creative quarter combine with this new rail transport route to London to suggest a bright future, and increasingly wealthy commuting population.
