Satellite towns include Oadby, Wigston, Braunstone Town, Birstall, Glenfield, Blaby, Thurmaston, Syston and Leicester Forest East. The city is close to the M1 motorway and on the Midland main line from London St Pancras International to Sheffield, Nottingham and Leeds. High-speed trains mean you can reach London in an hour. It is also served by a rail lines to Birmingham and Cambridge via Nuneaton and Peterborough respectively
